YVRA1958

Immagine

Eperdument (by Antonio Alessandria Parfums, 2016)

Today I'm wearing Eperdument , Antonio Alessandria 's last work (his website is here ). When we met at Pitti Fragranze Antonio sprayed my arm with it, surprising me completely. I thought he'd never use such evident ozonic notes in any creation! " Yes, actually I'm not fond of ozonic notes but... I needed to tell the sea journey of the bride inspiring my scent , and I could not do otherwise ". He then explains the theme of the fragrance, a story that belongs to his family, but that is similar to that of many other Italian families of the last century, and (unfortunately) also of many foreign families of today: " In the first half of the twentieth century thousands of people left Italy to reach other countries, in order to start a new life with more opportunities. Among these migrants there were thousands of young women who left their loved ones to go to America and marry a complete stranger ". Who knows what courage in the hearts of these y

Seminalis (by Alessandro Gualtieri for Orto Parisi, 2016)

When Alessandro Gualtieri launches something new, this generally creates a stir. And in fact about Seminalis , the new fragrance composed under the brand Orto Parisi , I already heard everything and everything's opposite well before I could put my nostrils on it. I was prepared for something strange, controversial, even to the limit of brutal, but ... But I was caressed , instead!  Cuddled, comforted, literally seduced by the scent of freshly baked butter cookies, sun-caressed skin, warm vanilla milk . This Seminalis is a true frun frun scent (... please, do get me right, frun frun is the sound of a cat purring). Typically, when I perceive the warm butter cookies it is because the fragrance contains natural sandalwood, and in this case I could swear it is. Then I also smell natural vanilla, cocoa, ambrette seed, patchouli, perhaps Florentine iris. And some white chalky and dusty musks strengthening iris and ambrette. If I'm right, this is one of the most expensive

Tuberose scents with Perris Monte Carlo and Adjiumi

Immagine
Saturday, November 6 at the “ Beauty Concept ” store in Monza, I took part to the event "Focus on tuberose" where participants were able to sniff and discuss dozens of raw materials and perfumes tuberose-focused. First, our host Gian Luca Perris (founder of Perris Monte Carlo, website here ) invited us to enjoy a fantastic tuberose absolute , that surprised many for its leathery character, dry, salty, smoky, "bacon", which took more than twenty minutes to show a soft and delicate floral facet , which speaks of flowers in a shy and persuasive way. While the steam distillation collects the lighter, more volatile and fresher notes, the absolute extracts the flower scent in its wholeness , with all its warm, earthy, heavy basenotes. Smelling the tuberose absolute I was struck by the fact this flower seems to work "backwards" compared with other flowers: you generally perceive the first more gentle and floral notes, and only after they get deeper, wei
